Three ways we can help
Every business needs a different level of support, so we offer three:

Payroll specialist smiling as she reviews a pay run on screen.
We run payroll for you.
We verify hours, confirm PTO, process each run, and handle the details, so you don't have to.
We automate it.
When your team is salaried with little change from period to period, we set payroll up to run on its own and step in when something changes.
We set it up, you run it.
We build your payroll system correctly from the start, your team enters the numbers and runs payroll, and we're there when questions come up.
Your payroll account stays yours
We recommend Gusto for most small businesses, and we work in any payroll platform you prefer. Either way, you pay for your payroll software directly and own the account. You never have to go through us to get a pay stub, a payroll report, or a tax form, and your data stays in your hands.

Catch up: fix missed filings and setup problems
As a business grows and changes, new payroll requirements appear, often without the owner noticing. A first employee in a new state, a new benefit plan, or a missed quarterly filing can quietly turn into penalties. During payroll onboarding, we look for these problems and help you resolve them:

- Missed filings and deposits, submitted promptly to limit penalties
- Incorrect filings, properly amended rather than simply resubmitted
- Incomplete state setup, including new state tax registrations that were never finished
- Benefit setup, checked to make sure deductions and employer contributions are set up and reported correctly
- Payroll in your books, with payroll liability accounts reconciled and S-corporation owner pay reviewed
If you receive a notice from the IRS or a state agency, our team researches it, works out the resolution, and follows up until the matter is closed and your accounts are in good standing. Your payroll platform resolves some notices on its own, and we handle the rest.
Stay current: payroll you don't have to worry about
Ongoing payroll support covers:
- Payroll setup in your platform, including new employees, pay rates, and pay schedules
- Processing each payroll run, or supporting your team while they run it
- Hours and PTO verified, with accruals and usage tracked
- Benefit enrollments, deductions, and employer contributions set up and kept accurate
- Payroll taxes deposited and filed on schedule, with W-2s prepared through your payroll platform
- State tax registrations when you hire in a new state, plus ongoing compliance monitoring
- Every payroll run posted to the right accounts in your books
- Answers to routine payroll and administration questions
Contractor 1099s are handled as part of your bookkeeping. If you pay contractors through Gusto, it can file those 1099s too, and your bookkeeper reviews them alongside any contractors and vendors paid outside payroll.

See clearly: payroll data that supports better reporting
Payroll is usually your biggest expense, so the way it shows up in your books matters. Because we handle payroll and bookkeeping together, we make sure wages, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, employer contributions, and owner pay are recorded correctly. For businesses that want to see labor cost by department, location, service line, or job, our quality reporting services build on that payroll data.

Scale smoothly: payroll that keeps up with growth

As your team grows, payroll gets more complicated: more locations, new pay structures, more benefit options, time-tracking systems, and approval steps. We adjust your payroll workflows as you grow, so a process that worked for five employees evolves to work for fifty employees.
Payroll that fits your industry
Payroll rules and pay structures vary from one industry to the next, and our team has set up and run payroll across many of them:
Restaurants and hospitality:
tips reported and paid correctly, with hourly staff and shifting schedules handled every pay period
Construction and trades:
hourly crews across job sites, and sometimes across states, with labor costs tied back to each job
Law firms and professional services:
salaried teams, bonuses, and owner pay set up and recorded correctly
Nonprofits:
wages allocated to programs and grants, so your reporting and grant budgets line up
SaaS, e-commerce, and real estate businesses:
lean or remote teams, contractors alongside employees, and staff in more than one state

Pricing
Prices on this page are for payroll on its own. We can build it into a customized package with any of our other services, such as bookkeeping, tax preparation, and advisory, for one monthly price. Schedule a call to put yours together.
Payroll services are billed hourly at $100 per hour. You pay your payroll software provider directly, so you only pay us for the time we spend.
How much time payroll takes depends on how many people you pay, how they're paid, and how much of the work we handle:
| Example | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Small and steady: under 10 employees, mostly salaried, few changes. Payroll runs automatically in Gusto, and we handle new hires, raises, and year-end. | 2 to 3 hours to set up, then 1 hour a month |
| Growing hourly team: 10 to 15 employees, paid semimonthly. Full service: we collect hours worked, run every payroll, and submit 401(k) contributions. | 3 to 4 hours a month |
| High-turnover, full service: 20 to 30 employees with frequent hiring and departures and a complex PTO policy. We run every payroll, onboard new hires, process final checks (including off-cycle ones), and answer employee questions. | 8 to 10 hours a month |
We charge a premium when a payroll fix has to happen on a very tight deadline, since meeting it means overtime or moving other work aside.
